Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actress best recognized for her role as House in the Fox Medical drama House. Born in Wayne with a strict Jewish tradition, she moved in New York City at the age of 18 to pursue studies in theater at Tisch School of the Arts. However, very quickly she began to be engaged in the city's nightclub scene and made enough noise to get noticed by the press, concurrently, becoming aware of the devastation of AIDS. Then, she combined her talent and fame with the ability to write and compose to produce a play called Positive Me. She landed her first job with MTV as the presenter of Awake on The Wild Side shortly after. When the show was over the show, she began appearing on television and film productions, initially in smaller parts, but gradually establishing herself as an actor.
