Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez (born Rosa Maria Perez on September 6, 1964) is an American actress, choreographer, dancer, and activist. Her first big break came with her portrayal of Tina in the movie Do the Right Thing (1989), and then White Men Can't Jump (1992). Perez's performance in Fearless (1993) earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress along with other honors. Her film roles as a star since include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado (2000), Pineapple Express (2008), and Birds of Prey (2020).Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another Emmy nomination for her performance in The Flight Attendant (2020-present). She has appeared in stage productions on Broadway like The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. The 18th season was the time she also co-hosted on ABC's talk show The View. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens. In 1999 her mother lived in poverty at the Woodside Houses, when she died from complications of AIDS.
